Edmund Hampden

Sir Edmund Hampden of Beckley († 4 maja 1471 ) był angielskim rycerzem .

Życie

Sir Edmund (także Edmond) był drugim synem Sir Edmunda Hampdena († 1419/20) i Joan, córki Roberta Bealknapa.

Był oddanym zwolennikiem Domu Lancaster i walczył w Wojnach Róż w 1461 roku w bitwie pod Towton . Po klęsce pod Towton, Sir Edmund uciekł z Margaret of Anjou na wygnanie do Szkocji i stracił wszelkie prawa w Anglii ( Bill of Attainder ).

W następnym roku Sir Edmund powrócił z armią Margaret z Anjou i wraz z Sir Robertem Whittinghamem oblegał Zamek Carlisle .

Sir Edmund był Chamberlain do Edward Westminster , następca tronu Domu Lancaster.

Sir Edmund Hampden z Beckley poległ 4 maja 1471 roku w bitwie pod Tewkesbury .
