Stephen Smith (dziennikarz)

Stephen William Smith (ur . 30 października 1956 r. W Connecticut ) jest amerykańsko-francuskim dziennikarzem i afrykanistą.

Życie

Stephen Smith studiował na Sorbonie (MA) i uzyskał doktorat z semiotyki na Wolnym Uniwersytecie w Berlinie w 1984 roku .

Pracował jako niezależny dziennikarz, aw 1986 został korespondentem ds . Wyzwolenia w Afryce . W latach 2000-2005 był starszym redaktorem w gazecie Le Monde . Smith pracował również jako korespondent dla Radio France Internationale i agencji Reuters w Afryce Zachodniej i Afryce Środkowej .

Smith wykłada afrykanistykę na Duke University od 2007 roku, a także na Johns Hopkins University od 2013 .
